Gerald mainly teaches music lessons to students living in neighborhoods around Prospect Park in South Brooklyn, including Ditmas Park, Park Slope, South Slope, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts Garden, Kensington, Windsor Terrace, Flatbush, Carrol Gardens, Red Hook, Gowanus, and more.

We had yet another great student recital on February 23rd at Threes Brewing in Gowanus, Brooklyn. We heard exceptional performances on guitar and piano, with students choosing songs from a range of genres - classical, pop, rock, and movie themes.

FALL 2024 RECITAL
This was one of our biggest recitals to date! The November 10th recital at Threes Brewing featured our talented students on guitar, bass guitar, piano, and ukulele. We had performances in jazz, classical, pop, rock, ragtime, and folk. And we were lucky enough to hear the debut performance of an original composition by one of our guitar players!

Ready… Set… Guitar!
A beginner guitar book that makes learning fun for kids, with easy instructions & clear illustrations for children ages 5 to 9.
Over the past few years, I've been writing a guitar book for elementary schoolers. I always felt that other guitar books didn't quite meet young kids at their level. So, I began writing more and more lesson sheets tailored for kids ages 5 through 9, and eventually I had enough material to create this book!
Ready... Set.. Guitar!
• Introduces kids to the first 3 strings of the guitar using easy-to-read print, a simple colors-and-numbers method, and straight-forward instruction.
• Keeps students focused on performing familiar songs.
• Gives teachers the freedom to interpret and incorporate the material into their unique lesson plans.
• And empowers parents, regardless of musical ability, to coach their children through straightforward instruction.
WINTER 2018 RECITAL
Here are a few photos from our last recital on January 31st. It was a blast! We had great guitar, bass, ukulele, and vocal performances. There was a good variety of musical styles on display, with songs by Tom Petty, Beethoven, Fleetwood Mac, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Heart, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Herbie Hancock, just to name a few. The kids are sounded so good! Our next concert is Tuesday June 12th at 4:45pm, at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn.
WINTER 2017 GUITAR RECITAL
Ditmas Park Guitar students were proud to present their talent at the 2017 Winter recital on January 25th at Threes Brewing in Gowanus, Brooklyn. A wide range of songs were performed, as students played songs from Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rolling Stones, and more. It's a thrill to see how the students' progress since the last recital. They've come a long way! Can't wait for the next concert in June!
